Phillipps, J.C. Wink the Ninja who wanted to nap, 32 pgs. Viking Juvenile, 2011. $11.99. EARLY READER
Wink is a famous ninja who loves to show off. He preforms in circus as they toured the country. But today he just can’t stop yawning, even when he is signing autographs for his fans. So Wink decides its nap time. But his fans won’t leave him alone, so Wink must try his best to figure out a way to get hide for his nap, will his ninja friends help him?
Who doesn’t like the idea of a kid who actually wants to take a nap and will try anything to accomplish this! I liked the fun collage style artwork. But for me, the story itself was lacking -for example: I was a bit lost why Wink’s fellow ninja’s would be willing to assist him, especially after he spent so much time bragging about how great he was and also used his Master’s idea as his own. Bottom line is that there was a plot, but it just wasn’t that interesting.
