Kaplan, Bruce Eric Monsters Eat Whiny Children, 40 pgs. Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2010. $10.87.
Henry & Eve are siblings who like to whine. When a monster who favors eating whiney children captures them, the children find out they are in big trouble. Turns out the monster & his friends & family are fairly indecisive about their food cravings, and keep changing their mind and starting new dishes. Can the children figure out a way to escape?
No effort was made to give Henry & Eve personalities. In fact, after a couple of pages of example whining, I could hardly care whether they were eaten or not. The monsters however, had personality! But their fighting was almost as grating as the earlier whining. The text was simple and easy to read, but overall the plot was not enjoyable and the artwork was drab.
