Keen, Maggie Chocolate Moose, 32 pgs. Dutton Juvenile, 2011. $12.74.
When a moose with a love for chocolate applies for a bakery job meant for a mouse, she might find she is in over her head. The bakery owner is a frazzled mouse with lots of little baby mice. She decides to give Moose a chance, and what she ends up with is a big mess. Moose makes everything moose sized, and keeps giving chocolate to the babies. Will Moose ever find her place in the bakery?
This book has a cute story and adorable artwork. There was a nice lesson about being persistent and finding your place. If you are not personally opposed to a overly sweet candy coated theme, it would be appealing to have in the library for new readers.
