City Moon by Rachael Cole - OPTIONAL

Cole, Rachael  City Moon Illustrated by Blanca Gomez  PICTURE BOOK  Schwartz and Wade Books, 2017.  $17.99  Content: G.

A mother and her son get ready for a night time walk.  With the son in his pajamas, they set off looking for the moon.  Because they live in the city, the moon is hiding behind buildings and until the moon gets high enough and the mother and son get to the park where it opens up they can’t see the moon.  They eventually see the moon and continue to see it as they head home to bed because it has risen high into the sky.

This is a cute night time story for little people, with a different spin of taking a walk before bed.  The illustrations are cute and the text is written as a poem.  This is definitely aimed at the younger listener with it’s simple explanations.

PREK – OPTIONAL.  Reviewer, C. Peterson.
