The Prince and the Pee by Greg Gormley - ADVISABLE

The Prince and the Pee by Greg Gormley illustrated by Chris Mould, PICTURE BOOK Nosy Crow (Candlewick Press), 2017. $17.

BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3) - ADVISABLE

AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH

Prince Freddie is enjoying his vacation when he is suddenly called up (by his horse) to rescue a castle from a dragon. So he rushes off, but should have "gone" first. The up and down motion of the saddle is more than he can bear, so he begs the horse to let him off, but each time they stop, something prevents Prince Freddie from relieving himself - an ogre, a princess, a long line - by the time he reaches the castle, it's an emergency.

A bit irreverent, it's just silly enough to be so much fun. With lots of references to fairy tales, this is fun to share with your favorite little prince - potty trained or not. The girls will like it too.
