Kiss Me in New York by Catherine Rider - OPTIONAL

Rider, Catherine  Kiss Me in New York, 189 pgs.  KCP Loft, 2017 (Kids Can Press).  $16.99  Content: Language: PG-13 (53 swears); Mature Content: PG; Violence: G.

Charlotte just wants to return home since her study abroad to New York ended with a break up with her boyfriend.  As she is waiting to fly home, her flight is canceled and she is stranded in New York on Christmas Eve.  Charlotte witnesses a boy, named Anthony, break up with his girlfriend and shortly after Charlotte and Anthony end up in the same taxi.  In an attempt to get over their break-ups, Anthony and Charlotte follow the steps from a self-help book and explore New York together.

I liked the premise of this story but had issue with how quickly Anthony and Charlotte’s relationship developed.  It was an entertaining read even though I wasn't dying to pick it up and read, but there are better teen romance books out there.  Also because it takes place over Christmas Eve it falls into that short term Christmas genre.
