Stine, Megan Where
are the Galapagos Islands? 108 pgs. CHAPTER BOOK Grosset and Dunlap, 2017.
$9.00 Content: G.
This book includes an explanation of where
the Galapagos Islands are, how they were formed and when they were
discovered. The history of the island
and the connection to Charles Darwin are also covered. The unique wildlife and the conservation
efforts are explained and are up-to-date.
This book is well organized and has fascinating facts about evolution
and the amazing animals found there.
There are black and white illustrations that help tell the story and show
the wildlife. At the end of the book
there is a timeline for the Galapagos Islands next to a world timeline that is
a good overview of the major events explained in the book. My elementary age boys love this nonfiction
series and this is a great addition.
