This is the story of the invention and marketing of the accidental invention of the slinky. Readers learn about the angst of worrying that your invention won’t be successful and the perseverance needed to see it through. The illustrations collage style and top notch.

I LOVE these invention books for younger readers, especially about items they are familiar with and can actually hold. Of course, great for a unit on inventors and inventions. The illustrations are so much fun and could even work as ideas for an art project. I would add this to my library and have a slinky to be checked out along with it, like a kit.
