Yarlett, Emma Poppy Pickle: A Little
Girl with a Big Imagination Templar (Candlewick),
2015. $16.99 PICTURE BOOK
Poppy Pickle is a little girl whose imagination often gets her
into pickles. One day she is sent to her room to clean it and her imagination
escapes. It takes on a real life of its own and get’s out of control. Will
Poppy find a way to subdue her imagination before her parents find out, her
house is destroyed, or an alligator named Rex eats her? Filled with large illustrations
and lots of little details.
This is a cute story that is all about imagination, so it would
be great for introducing the concept to a Kindergarten class. The illustrations
are bright and darling, large enough to share with a group.
