In this newest book Jack
and Annie get a puppy and a special summons to come to back to Camelot. Turns
out it was actually Queen Guinevere asking for them. Everyone else who can help, those that are
part of the Magic Treehouse, like Merlin, have been trapped in the mythical
kingdom of Avalon. The portal to Avalon has been blocked, worse yet, King
Arthur himself needs to get to there to be healed. The entire fate of the
Kingdom is up to Jack and Annie.
Wow, this is heavy stuff.
I didn’t realize that this series had gone so abstract and fantasy, but it is
apparent from references to other books that it has. This story was a bit
strange and complex for beginning chapter book readers. Not my favorite by far,
but avid readers will of course clamor for it. The cover has a ton of appeal
and readers will enjoy the inclusion of a new puppy for Jack and Annie.
