This is
the second book in the Jenna Fox trilogy.
While Jenna has been living her life for 260 years, her two best friends
have had their minds trapped inside a black cube. A scientist named Gatsbo creates bodies for
Locke and Kara, so their minds can be placed inside them and they can live
again. Kara and Locke soon discover that
Gatsbo is using them to make money as he proves to people that they can live
longer than their bodies. Locke and Kara
run away, lost and overcome by the changes that the world has made in 260
years, they eventually find themselves looking for Jenna. But having their minds trapped in the dark
for so long causes problems when they try to live new lives.
I find this series fascinating and I actually
liked this story better than the first book because Locke is a good narrator and not whiny like Jenna was in Adoration of Jenna Fox. The story line moves quickly and the
friendship between Jenna, Locke and Kara is complex. It also makes the reader think about
mortality and human relationships. Good
read.
