BALLPARK Myteries #6: The Wrigley Riddle- ADVISABLE
Kelly, David A. Ball Park Mysteries: The Wrigley Riddle. Illustrated by Mark Meyers. 105 pgs. Random House, 2013. $4.99. Chapter Book. Content: G. Two cousins love to go to
the baseball games together but this time they are in Wrigley Field. They notice that the memorable ivy is being
cut away
from the walls surrounding the field so they set out to find who is doing it. The
rumors of hidden treasure under the ivy or the good luck the treasure brings to the team may
be too much to resist. Will our heroes stop the ivy cutter before it is too
late?
This
is a
nice children’s book that can be read by individual students or aloud in a classroom. It was written nicely and I somewhat
enjoyed it. Any young baseball fan would certainly love it. The illustrations make
the story come to life. It is an easy read, but one that will be enjoyed
by all. EL (K-3). ADVISABLE. Student Reviewed: JL- age 11.
