Crimi, Carolyn. Rock 'n' Roll Mole, illustrated by Lynn Munsinger. Dial Books for Young Readers, 2011. $16.99. PICTURE BOOK.
"Mole had a rock-and-roll soul." He had the fans and the groupies, but unfortunately he also had stage fright. So when Pig planned a little talent show, Mole did not want to perform at it. But he also wants to be a good friend.
This is a great book. The writing is fun and engaging, and there are many clever parts (like Moo-2, Mick Badger, and Goose Springsteen). I loved reading it, and it offers an opportunity to discuss topics like friendship and overcoming fears.
Pre-K, EL(K-3), EL - ESSENTIAL. Brent Smith, Reading Teacher
