Lucy Unstrung by Carole Lazar - OPTIONAL
Lazar, Carole. Lucy Unstrung. $12.95 Tundra Books, 2010. 235 pgs. Lucy's whole world is falling apart. Her parents are separating, her mom is acting more like a teenager than an adult, and her grandmother doesn't have as much time for her as she'd like. When Lucy's parents' separation means she'll have to move to a trailer park and attend a public school instead of a private Catholic school, she's devastated. Not only will she leave her nice house and friends behind, but she believes that public schools are full of sinners. The book moves very slowly, and Lucy's actions and thoughts are often very self-centered. The Catholic religion plays a big part in the story, making it suitable for large collections where this may be of interest to students. MS-OPTIONAL. Reviewer: Caryn.
