Clueless McGee and the Inflatable Pants by Jeff Mack-ESSENTIAL

Mack, Jeff Clueless McGee and the Inflatable Pants, 256 pgs.  Philomel, 2013.  $12.99.  Chapter Book (Rating: G).  PJ’s Dad is an investigator. PJ hopes to be just like his Dad.  Someone in his school has stolen the science fair trophy. PJ wants to try to solve the mystery.  He writes letters to his father and tells him details of what happens each day while he is trying to solve the case.  But his Dad never writes back.  Will PJ be able to follow in his father’s footsteps and solve this mystery? Read to find out.  I liked this book because the author thought of telling the entire story in letters from PJ to his Dad.  I liked the cartoon illustrations.  The story was easy to follow.  The book was interesting and fun to read. I felt bad for PJ though and wish his father would have written him back.  EL- ESSENTIAL.  Student Reviewer: JL- age 10.
