Sophia and Annie are sister with special talents. Annie is blind, but can see glimpses of the
future through her visions. Sophia has
perfect intuition that will never steer her wrong. However, since their parents died, Annie and
Sophia have been taught in a special school that uses their talents to control
political and financial outcomes in the nation.
Sophia and Annie want out, but the school blackmails Sophia by
threatening to kill Annie. The only way
to go against the school is to be spontaneous so the Readers, people whose
talent it is to read other’s minds, don’t stop Annie from going against her
orders. Annie decides against killing
one of the boys that she was sent to assassinate, and it brings a whole adventure
of trouble.
This book is great. I love Kiersten White’s characters and her
writing style always draws me into the world she has created. The book is told from the two characters,
Annie and Sophia, and flashes back in time throughout the story. I can’t wait until the next book in the
series comes out. It was a fun
read.
