BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K -- OPTIONAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
In this rhyming picture book, a little girl and boy go with their mother and grandmother to the park. Their busy eyes see all the fun things surrounding them.
I love the illustrations. They are colorful and eye-catching, and they show great diversity. They seem to capture the text as well as could possibly be expected. Unfortunately, the text itself is awkward in many places from trying so hard to rhyme and to keep with the "busy-eyed" theme. If coherency were prized over the too-rigid theme and the rhyming, I think this could be a very fun book.
