This book is an overview of storms and their
aftermath as well as other dangerous conditions caused by the weather. Each page spread explains different types of extreme
weather such as tornadoes or thunderstorms in a paragraph and then provides
examples of varying degrees of those storms in captions and pictures. There are sometimes graphs, satellite pictures
or close ups as well as aftermath type pictures.
This book was fascinating! I enjoyed every page and found myself
explaining things about the weather to anyone who would listen. You can feel Roker’s love for weather
throughout and the different conditions are well explained and illustrated. There is a lot of content on each page spread
and the science will be best understood by upper elementary and middle school
kids. There is mention of deaths caused by different weather conditions but nothing graphic.
