Thomas, Jan There’s a
Pest in the Garden EARLY READER Houghton
Mifflin Harcourt, 2017. $9.99 Content: G.
There is an annoying pest in the animals’ garden. He eats all of their corn and peas. Duck decides that in order to make the pest
go away, he will eat all the vegetables so there is nothing for the pest to
eat. After Duck eats all the turnips the
animals decide to plant another garden and put up a fence to keep the pests
out.
This is another adorable early
reader from Jan Thomas. The
illustrations are bright, simple and the characters have great
expressions. The words are simple and
easy to read and the storyline is engaging, so new readers will love this
book.
