Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle has gone in search of her pirate husband and left her great niece Missy in charge of the upside-down house and all the animals - and well, she’s just as talented at helping the children of Little Spring Valley change their “naughty” behaviors as her famous aunt. With a combination of magical potions and parenting advice, a know-it-all, a gum smacker, a little boy who doesn’t care, a greedy sister and a wannabe spy all learn their lessons and change their ways.
Initially I was worried that this series was a generation too late - that the magic would be lost on children who hadn’t read the original series - but I loved it. It totally stands alone - just enough background is given to explain the upside down house and the magical elements, and then right into the first cure. Oh, I hope Ann Martin writes more. This was a delight (and a trip down memory lane)
