Emily has volunteered
to be the understudy to Juliet in the school's Shakespeare night, all in an
attempt to get closer to her friend and crush, Wes Rosenthal. Things do not go
as planned. And even as Wes seems to be suggesting he has romantic interest in
Emily, despite the Shakespeare disaster, other events continue to keep them
apart. Emily must decide if she's willing to make one more big scene and
maybe--just maybe--finally win over her 'Romeo'.
This is a very stereotypical
teenage romantic comedy. That is not to say its bad--it is in fact, very well
done. The characters are endearing and you find yourself really rooting for
Emily, falling for Wes, and definitely loving Emily's best friends who are
always there for her. I appreciated that this book was 100% clean with no
language and no sex or violence. It was a fun quick read that a lot of girls
will enjoy.
