Thompson, Jolene Faraway Fox Houghton Mifflin, 2016. $17.99. PICTURE
BOOK
This is the story of a fox that is wandering a town and
remembering the forest. He is sad and misses his family. One days some humans
are doing something interesting, could they be helping him?
This is a wonderful short and sweet Wildlife conservation story.
It is not overly scary or sad and is a great read for younger students. The
illustrations are large enough to share with a group and make stellar use of
light and layout. Students will be drawn to the fox character . Its more of an
explanation story rather than a ‘how kids can help’ story, which is ok too, but
I really like empowering students, my only complaint.
