Renee is fighting for her spot at the academy to train and become a Servant of the Crown. The reality is, someone has to be cut and being on combat arts probation is not helping Renee's chances of staying. But when her staying is made possible by the expulsion of her best friend, does Renee live her dream or stay by her friend? 

While the story line has great potential, the book itself was very confusing to read. I was ready to read a good action book and ended up finding more political drama than I could follow. The fighting scenes did live up to my expectations, it's just unfortunate that those were the only enjoyable parts to read.
