When the family arrives in Montana, Martha is so excited to go on a cattle drive.  But Cookie the cowhand is a little suspicious of a talking dog, especially after Martha causes a stampede.  Can Martha, with Skit’s help, show Cookie that she has what it takes to be at home on the range?”  I liked the illustrations and the characters in this book.  The book was really funny at times.  I recommend it for a younger age.  It was a great book.  EL (K-3).
