The Curse of the Crossbow Archer #4 (Get a Clue) by Julian Press

Press, Julian The Curse of the Crossbow Archer #4 (Get a Clue) 128 p. Grossett and Dunlap, 2008. $4.99. Language - G; Sexual Content - G; Violence - G. This book is made up of four different stories that all flow together. It starts off with Dr. Horton hiding his will from his family members, and then his important items start to go missing. It is up to the detectives to piece together the puzzle. Once they have solved this mystery, they find themselves trying to find a dog kidnapper who only steals spotted black and white dogs. The stories have a unique twist to them because it is half chapter book, half an eye spy book. At the bottom of each page, it gives the reader a hint as to what to look for in the illustration. The reader has to look at each picture to help solve the mystery along with the detectives. I thought this book was a lot of fun. It would be a great book to get students actively engaged in their reading. EL, MS - ADVISABLE. Anna Mattheus, Elementary Teacher.
