He’s tired of taking baths, making his bed, but what really pushed him beyond his limit is that his mom wants to give away his favorite pair of shoes. Alfie’s mom helps him pack and gets him snacks, a flashlight, blanket, etc. in a bag. She tells him if he’s running away he shouldn’t wear shoes that are too small. Alfie runs away to the backyard, but eventually finds a solution for his shoes and can go back home. The illustrations compliment the story. EL – ADVISABLE. Samantha, Public Librarian.
