A little duckling had a traumatic experience when just an
egg and is now too scared to go in the water. His friends and family quietly
encourage him to be brave and just try, but they never force the issue. Finally
one day he takes the plunge and discovers that he is perfectly designed and
suited to swim.
This is a really lovely picture book with beautiful soft
illustrations and wonderful text written in a rhyming cadence that is perfect
every time. The main character is instantly endearing and you really feel for
him in his quandary. I especially loved the way his family and friends were
always positive and encouraging, but it ultimately was up to Duck to finally decide
he would try to swim. Its a great message book for kids and I think it will be
a big hit.
