Despite their disagreements, Iko and Kinney are still trying
to rack down Aloha Steele, who has gathered together the remaining
wolf-soldiers in a final push to take down Cinder in any manner possible. Even by attacking Scarlett and taking Wolf on
as a member of the band. Or making
hostages of Cress and Thorne and others.
The final confrontation could be apocalyptic.
Cinder fans will continue to clamor for more Iko story –
especially because of the challenges Iko personally faces in this book. I love the relationship between Kinney and
Iko! The wolf soldier rank and file
still look like gerbils, and the graphic parts don’t really do anything of
themselves – they just support or illustrate the text. I think a great graphic novel has parts of
the story that are only told by close reading of the illustrations.
MS, HS – ESSENTIAL.
