Shea, Bob The Scariest Book Ever, PICTURE BOOK. Disney,
2017. $17.
A little ghost is afraid of everything even what’s happening on pages of the book that it can’t see. The reader is invited to read those pages and get back to the hiding ghost and tell it whats happening. What’s happening is a cute woodland Halloween party, but the ghost doesn’t believe it. Can the reader talk the ghost into joining the fun?
This
is a great book for a Halloween read-aloud. Just enough creepy for younger
readers and humor to balance it out. The pages are big and bright and big
enough for sharing with a class. Students will like trying to find the invisible
ghost on each page as it blends in with the same color background (its texture
that helps it stand out).
