The Pout-Pout Fish: Far, Far from Home by Deborah Diesen - ESSENTIAL

Diesen, Deborah  The Pout-Pout Fish: Far, Far from Home  Illustrated by Dan Hanna PICTURE BOOK Farrar Straus Giroux, 2017  $16.99  Content: G.

Pout-Pout Fish plans a vacation and packs his bags.  As he is traveling to his destination he has a few detours and bumps in the road, but other fish help him and he figures it out.  When he arrives at his destination he realizes he forgot his snugly toy that he likes to sleep with, he takes a deep breath and calms himself down and goes to sleep.  He spends the rest of his vacation having lots of fun adventures.

This is the first Pout-Pout Fish book I have read, and I can’t wait to read the other books in the series.  What a great message for kids-that sometimes life doesn’t go as planned, but when we are flexible it can still be fun.  Adorable illustrations with cute humorous details throughout.
