Silverman, Buffy Mars Missions. 48 pgs. Lerner,
2017. $19.99. Content: G.
The book details how humans have discovered information about
mars, from the past through the present, as well as the technological
advancement necessary to achieve that. It looks at the possibility of life on
mars, whether it did exist or might be engineered to exist in the future. The
push for human landings there is discussed and how humans are preparing for a
future where this may occur. Lots of photographs and illustrations on each
page.
I think that elementary student readers will find this fascinating. This is a
timely topic with the upcoming planned launches and the release of the move The
Martian. Student can learn a lot of current information about mars and learn
what is planned for the future. Great photographs and varied page layout. Best understood by 3rd grade and up.
