Bird Island is a paradise full of happy well adjusted birds,
except a few, one of them is Red. Red is always angry. One day, when he can’t
control his temper, he is judged and sentenced to anger management school.
There he learns yoga, art therapy, and makes some friends. When pigs arrive in
the island, the birds are thrilled and they all have a party. But Red and his
friends are suspicious and worried, maybe these birds were up to no good.
This was an entertaining and funny read, like watching the
movie. Like many kids movies, I it felt like this book has quite a bit of adult
humor, like anger management classes, therapy, and when Red destroys a little
crafted house, they call it a Hate crime, which I do not care to see that term
used lightly. Due to this and the vocabulary level, I see this best for 4th grade and up. I have not had any students ask for angry birds related books,
so I probably would not spend budget money on this, but it would make a fun
gift for a fan.
