Davis Lisa Selin Lost Stars, 277 pages. Houghton Mifflin

content:G ; Violence; PG.
Sixteen-year-old Carrie is a misfit, She only has her dad, her
best friend, and her best friend’s family. She gets herself into trouble every
weekend, and her consequence is always getting her telescope taken away.
Vicious rumors start spreading about her and her sister Ginny’s death.
Carrie gets herself into the wrong stuff such as: smoking, drinking and drugs.
Her one escape is the stars and when she can’t turn to astronomy she turns to
her best friend Soo.
There is quite a bit of swearing but the characters wouldn’t
seem real without it. If you relate to the main character Carrie in any way
this would be a great story to read. I would recommend this to Middle School
students.
HS - ADVISABLE; MS - OPTIONAL. Student Reviewer, EGS 7th
grade.
