Sloane has just moved to
another town because of her father’s erratic career. It bothers her but little,
as she’s always considered herself a loner type and has her musical theatre
pursuits to keep her plenty occupied. But a chance encounter at a party with twins
Vera and Gabe changes all of that. Soon she’s caught up in an intense
friendship unlike she has ever known, but it may just break her heart.
This Adventure Ends ticked almost all of my boxes. It’s by
turns heartwarming and insightful, with just the right amount of emotional
angst to get your pulse jumping. It made me laugh and reread passages over
which were particularly hilarious, not to mention impressed me thoroughly with
its stunning portrayal of the ups and downs of friendship and familial love.
The only complaint I can possibly put to it is that it was unnecessarily
crass. The swear count was off the charts and makes me sadly hesitant to
recommend it.
