Sena, Keiko. Gracie Meets a Ghost, PICTURE BOOK. Museyon Inc., 1975. $16.99. Gracie is a bunny who needs glasses to see. One day, she accidentally leaves her glasses on a mountain while playing with her friends. She knows the paths that lead back to the top of the mountain and she goes off to find her glasses. Because she can’t see well without them, she keeps mistaking various animals for the different parts of her glasses. A ghost who has wanted to scare someone for a very long time, sees Gracie and gets so excited to scare her. Unfortunately, Gracie can’t see him and so he decides to help her find her glasses so that she can get a good look at him and he can scare her really well. It takes so long to find the glasses, by the time the ghost is done the sun is up and he disappears. This book is a little clunky, I think possibly because of the translation. It is a bit stilted. I like the idea of the story and the collage style to the illustrations is well done and different. PRE-K, EL (K-3)- OPTIONAL. Reviewed by Shay, School Librarian
