Iris and Walter: Lost and Found, 44 pgs. Illustrated by Christine Davenier
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2004.
EARLY READER $3.99 Content: G.
Iris has a little sister named Baby Rose who always likes to take her
things. When Iris borrows her best
friend Walter’s special harmonica, she is careful to keep it in her bag, but
when it’s time to give it back to Walter she can’t find it anywhere. When Iris comes home from school Baby Rose is
playing the harmonica.
This early reader
is broken into four chapters and has around four sentences per page. The story is predictable and kind of boring,
but the hardest part for me and my boys is that the characters in the book look
different on every page. The illustrator
wasn’t consistent.
