Sara grew up as a ballerina in a small town and it was now
her chance to audition for a ballet school in New Jersey. After Sara joined,
she started to rethink what her real dreams were. She always thought she wanted
to be a prima ballerina, but as her love for Remington develops and she starts
writing more for school, she realizes that the dances they choreograph together
are not her dreams but his and she finds more love for writing.
This book was written in verse. It was hard to read at first
but once I got the feel for it, it was a fast read. Throughout the book the
author describes what life is like as a ballerina; eating disorders, self-
image, perfection, and dedication. I thought Sara and Remington’s sexual
romance is inappropriate and also illegal for he is 22 years old and she is
only 16 and I was upset that none of the other adult’s around her were against
this relationship. There is also reference to getting high by smoking pot and
flirting with her teacher by showing extra cleavage.
NOT RECOMMENDED. CW
