Nadin, Joanna. Wonderland, 208 p. Candlewick Press, 2011. $16.99. Violence –G; Language PG-13 (13 swears, 0 ‘f’) Mature Content: R. Jude wants to get out of Churchtown. Wants to get away from her overbearing grandmother, annoying brother, and a dad who just doesn’t care. After the death of her mother when she was a child, everything around her seems to haunt her with her presence. But when her childhood friend Stella comes back into town, things change for Jude, until she realizes becoming like Stella isn’t what she wants to be. I liked this book, it was well written and held a lot of intrigue. You really don’t guess what’s going on in Jude’s head until Jude realizes it for herself. The only problem is a semi-graphic sex scene, which makes it hard for teens to read. HIGH SCHOOL- NO. Student Reviewer: AL
