Based on a poem by Rumi, this is the story of a beautiful parrot from India that lives in Persia and is owned in a cage by a merchant. The parrot draws customers for the merchant with his beautiful songs and helps the merchant become very successful. After the merchant refuses the parrots request for freedom, the parrot asks the merchant to tell his friends in India of his cage and captivity.
