The Not so Quiet Library by Zachariah Ohora –ADVISABLE

Ohora, Zachariah  The Not so Quiet Library Dial (Penguin), 2016.  $17.99.  PICTURE BOOK
A little boy and his best friend the bear, are excited to start the day. That is because this is the day that their dad takes them to the library. They know that libraries are a quite place, but a green monster does not. Together the boy and his bear try to stop the monster from eating the books, and them!
I love the illustrations, they are unique bright and bold. The story is fun because the noisy troublemakers are a monster, not other kids. This is way more relate-able than the main character being a ‘tattle-tale’ on other kids. I like that the librarian has a part in the solution. This would be a fun book to read to a group that is having a challenging time with being loud in the library.
