The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall - ADVISABLE

Hall, Maggie  The Conspiracy of Us (Conspiracy of Us, #1), 324 pgs.  G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 2015.  $17.99  Content: Language: PG -13(6 swears); Mature Content: PG-13; Violence: PG-13.

Avery has lived with her mother moving from town to town her whole life and all she knows about her dad is that he left them when she was little.  She is happy in the town that she is in and she feels an attraction towards the new kid at school named Jack.  But one day when she overhears Jack talking on his phone, she realizes that he is keeping a secret and it involves her and possibly her father’s family.  As Avery gets pulled into Jack’s world she learns that there is a hidden society that is trying to find her because she could be the hidden link to a lost power.

This is an action packed adventure with romance and mystery thrown in.  I liked the main character and the secret order was interesting.  My only complaint is the long drawn out make out sessions-they were clean, but how many times do we need to look into each other’s eyes?  The violence was blood and a decapitated head.
