Calamity by Brandon Sanderson - ESSENTIAL

Sanderson, Brandon Calamity (Reckoners #3), 417 pgs. Delacorte Press, 2016.  Language: PG (9 swears) Mature Content: PG-13 Violence: PG-13

It's been a couple of months since the confrontation in Babilar that left Limelight consumed by his powers.  David, Megan and the rest of the Reckoners have regrouped and now must find and stop Limelight.  They get a tip that he's in Ildithia so they pack up and head there.  The Reckoners know they must stop Limelight and all the other powerful Epics, but David doesn't intend to just stop them, he wants to change them back.  He wants to save Limelight.

I had been looking forward to this book and wasn't disappointed.  As the conclusion to the series, it had a satisfying end.  There was plenty of action and the relationships between the characters were solid, there was even a few surprises at the end.  Sanderson creates a story that is fun, intriguing and one where I can't ever predict what's going to happen.  Students that are already invested in the story will be especially excited for this book.
