Randi Rhodes, 12, is not happy about being
rooted up from her fabulous New York life and trucked off to podunk Deer Creek,
Tennessee. She had a booming crime
fighting business and is sure that Deer Creek has no mystery. Actually, Deer Creek does have some surprises
– a couple of new friends, a wide variety of characters who inhabit the town,
and a mystery that could spell the demise of Deer Creek if Randi can’t solve
it. Someone has stolen the Founders’
treasure – right from under everyone’s noses during the great opening of the
town’s time capsule. Someone is telling
lots of lies, and Randi is determined to find the culprit.
Randi is way fun to have around.
The ninja part of the whole series is kind of
out there, but the skills and the mindset actually come in handy. Not only is Octavia Spencer an excellent
actress, she also has a talent for writing.
