Midnight Reynolds and the Spectral Transformer by Catherine Holt - ADVISABLE

Holt, Catherine  Midnight Reynolds and the Spectral Transformer, 255 pages.  Albert Whitman and Company, 2017. $10.  Language:G (5 swears, 0 “f”); Mature Content: G ; Violence: G

Midnight is always the new kid, they move around a lot, but this most recent move lands her in the cool group. She desperately wants to stay put in it, but when there is talk of a fancy ski trip she knows she had better get a job.  Her job is helping Miss Appleby as a ghost buster!  The money is great but the work is odd.  It turns out things are not as they seem and Midnight learns to not judge people too early or too harshly.

Do not judge this book by its cover. The cover looks more like Scooby Doo than Nancy Drew (this generation deserves their own Nancy Drew!). This is a clever book and the characters are well developed. I am looking forward to the next one due in October 2018
