The Berenstain Bears: When I Grow Up by Mike Berenstain - ADVISABLE

Berenstain, Mike.  The Berenstain Bears: When I Grow Up.  Harper Festival, 2015.  $4.99.  Content-G.  PICTURE BOOK.

Brother and Sister Bear attend career day at the Bear Country School.  They see their papa show his wood-working skills, their mama show her quilting skills, many other moms and dads, and Ferdy Factual’s uncle Actual Factual shows them all sorts of scientific stuff.  Brother knows exactly what he wants to be—a soccer star.  Sister isn’t quite so sure.  She has many interests and doesn’t know how to pick just one.  They ask their parent’s permission to ride home with Ferdy and his Uncle Actual Factual in the Actual-Factual Mobile and take an impromptu tour of the many different professions in bear country.  Nearly all major professions are represented.  Actual Factual also explains that being a mom or dad can be the most important job.  His last piece of wisdom is that if you choose the right profession your job can be fun!  Fans of the Berenstain Bears will enjoy this formulaic, but fun, smorgasbord of the different career paths available.

Pre-K, EL-ADVISABLE.  Samantha Hastings, MA, MLS.
