Fenner, Julie M. Curious George: Farm to Table. PICTURE BOOK. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2016. $13. 9780544652200
When George drops his friend Marco's bag of masa, they can no longer make the tortillas they were planning on. They go to the grocery store, but there's none available. The delivery man shows up, but he doesn't have any with him. They then go to the warehouse to get more. No luck. On and on they go, chasing the supply chain of the elusive masa. Will they finally be able to make their tortillas?
This is the sort of book that looks cute but isn't likely to be checked out much in our school library, and it's a bit long and dry for a read-aloud. It could be useful if tied in with a lesson or if in an area with a strong Curious George fandom. Otherwise, straight-up nonfiction might be a more efficient and informative way to learn about food distribution.
