D.J. and Hilo’s other best friend Gina has been sucked into
another world and they have to go to extremes to get to her. Turns out it’s a world
where a good friend and ally, Polly the cat, is from. But Polly’s world has
problems of its own and in their quest to recover Hilo’s blocked memories, the
group of friends is put in the middle of the conflict. Feature bright engaging full
color graphic novel illustrations.
This one is almost as good as the first in the series, as its gets
back to the relationships, which makes the reader feel more a part of the story. Of course, there is a healthy dose of action too, which is fun. My favorite is when they go on a journey in a fish and get spit out. Readers will be thrilled to learn more about Hilo and the world where Polly is
from. The illustrations are adorable and this has been a wildly popular series
in my library.
