NOVELThe
Thea sisters are beautiful mouse girls who go to a school at an academy. They
are part of the discovery of an ancient Viking Vessel, maybe that of first
settlers of Whale Island, where they live. The girls recreate an ancient
perfume and try to sell, so the proceeds can go towards the restoration and
study of the ship. But when bad guys try to break in and steal the formula the
girls come up with a plan.
The
Thea Stilton and Geronimo Stilton books are very popular with my first and
second graders, so I was excited to see a fully graphic novel version. I really
think this book and the Thea series have the plots and vocabulary for older
readers, but the artwork appeals more towards younger students. Think Barbie
Mice! I wish the author would go one way or the other, preferably catering to
lower grades with geared down vocabulary choices and clearer plots.
