De Seve, Randall.
Peanut & Fifi Have a Ball. Illustrated by Paul Schmid. 40 pgs. Dial, 2013. $15.99. PICTURE BOOK. This is a great story that illustrates the
importance of friendship and sharing.
Peanut as a ball. Fifi wanted to
play with is as well, but Peanut wasn’t willing to share. Fifi did everything her mind could possibly imagine
to convince Peanut to share with her. But
Peanut wouldn’t budge. Fifi then turns
to her own imagination and creates an incredible play situation and suddenly
the tables are turned and it’s Peanut hoping to join in the fun. The illustrations are simple yet
beautiful. The story is a great
springboard for discussions about kindness, sharing, toys, and friendship. This is a simple yet powerful picture
book. Pre-K. EL (K-3).
ADVISABLE. Reviewer: SL.
