Ever since their mother was killed, Carter Kane and his father, Julius, only get to see Sadie, his sister twice a year. While visiting a museum with their father in England to view the Rosetta Stone, Julius makes his children wait outside the room in which it’s housed. Soon, Julius performs a ritual that releases 5 Egyptian Gods, including Set, the evil God of darkness and chaos. When Julius raised the Gods, he took on the spirit of Osiris. To start exacting his revenge on his siblings, Set curses Julius into a cage sarcophagus and sends him to the underworld. To make matters worse, he intends to rebuild his Red Pyramid of Chaos and destroy the world. The organization their parents were involved in is also after the Kanes and thinks the only way to stop set is to destroy the Kanes. Can Sadie and Carter save themselves as well as the world?

A great adaptation of Rick Riordan’s Egyptian adventure. The characters in the graphic novel are true to the ones in the original series. The illustrations are detailed and colorful and complement the text. Readers who like adventure, mythology, Egypt, and action will enjoy reading this book.
